The Maharashtra state government on Tuesday informed the Bombay high court that on an experiment basis will allow lawyers to use local trains who have to attend physical hearing from September 18 to October the lawyers who have a hearing before any of the 4 benches of the court can approach their respective registrar for the certificate and ask the railways authorities to give them a travel pass for Advocate Kumbhkaoni explained Chief Justice Datta and justice Kulkarni the arrangement in a note. On behalf of railways solicitor general, Anil Singh gave assent to the given arrangement. There was public interest litigation filed before the court stating that lawyer services come under essential service and lawyers should be allowed to travel in the local train being run in the high court passed the order for the advocates who are physically appearing before the high court and should approach their designated registrar for the seeking of the pass for the same date on which their matter will be The certificate will be issued only after confirming the said hearing. Court also ordered the registrar to do the same by confirming the hearing then giving the certificate. By receiving the certificate the advocate will approach the railway authority with the appropriate document for the travel ticket/pass for traveling. The high court will be preparing to the extent the benefit for the trial court lawyers too.
