2nd Corp Comm Legal National Essay Writing Competition: Research Assistantship and Publication Opportunity, Submit by April 15

Post the success of the first edition, Corp Comm Legal and Law League India are organizing the 2nd  Corp Comm Legal   National Essay Writing Competition. The results of the first edition can be found here. The Second Corp Comm Legal National Essay Writing Competition provides all law students a platform to engage themselves and enhance their writing skills.

The competition seeks to allow all law students to utilise the lockdown period productively and research on existing legal issues in the world. The competition shall reward students with excellent writing skills by giving them the opportunity to pursue research assistantship and publication opportunity under Mr. Bhumesh Verma, the managing partner of Corp Comm Legal.

About the Organisers

Corp Comm Legal is a full-service law firm with its head office in New Delhi and associate offices in all major Indian cities. Bhumesh Verma is the managing partner of Corp Comm Legal, which he set up after spending 23 years with some of the best Indian law firms.

Having started his career at Ajay Bahl & Co. (now part of AZB & Partners), he went on to work with some of the best law firms in India. He received the coveted Chevening Scholarship by the UK Government in 2000 whereunder he studied in College of Law, York and was a visiting lawyer with Ashursts’ London office. Later in his career, he became partner at some of the leading Indian law firms including Khaitan & Co., Paras Kuhad & Associates and Link Legal.

The essay collaborates Law League is an initiative of the students of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. Law League seeks to remove the ‘law school handicap’ by allowing an equal and even playing field to students across the country by encouraging their participation in our collaborative events and research project. About the Competition

Theme

The theme of the competition is not strict. The competition shall accept papers on Legal issues across the globe. The main aim of the competition is to provide a platform to all law students to build their research and writing skills and engage themselves productively.

The Competition seeks to reward the authors with excellent writing skills by giving them an opportunity to do a Research Assistance under Mr. Bhumesh Verma.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all law students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate courses from any recognized university/college across India, law graduates and legal professionals/academicians. Students Pursuing CS may also contribute.

Registration and Submission

The participants must register themselves by sending a mail to info@lawleague.in. There is Rs. 250 registration fee for the competition for single author. Co-Authorship fee is Rs 350.

The mode of payment and other registration details shall be intimated on mail pursuant to the submission by the participant. All essay entries have to be submitted by 15th April 2020.

Prizes

Top 5 entries will get the following perks

  • An Online Internship with Corp Comm Legal and Research Assistance Experience with Mr. Bhumesh Verma (Managing Partner, Corp Comm Legal)
  • Outstanding submissions shall be given research credit subject to their incorporation in a Book/Article by Mr. Bhumesh Verma.
  • Letter of Recommendation/Certificate of Merit signed by Mr. Bhumesh Verma.
  • Cash Rewards of Rs.2,500, Rs.1,500 and Rs.1,000 for First, Second and Third Positions Respectively.
