The aim of NSS is developing student’s personality through community service. It install’s the idea of social welfare in students and provides service to society without any bias. NSS aims to develop the quality of understanding the community in which the NSS volunteers work. Also, to identify the needs and problems of the community and involve themselves in problem-solving exercise; developing among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility, to develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters; and to practice national integration and social harmony. The GLC NSS unit was started 11 years ago. The GLC NSS Volunteers always make sure to contribute and help in the development of society through various activities starting from visiting local areas of Mumbai and acknowledging the people on various issues or even arranging blood donation camp, sessions on awakening topics, the beach clean up activities to setting up camp and helping the villagers to get a better standard of living. NSS attempts to establish meaningful linkages between ‘Campus and Community’, ‘College and Village’ and ‘Knowledge and Action’
