About Christ University

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is a private deemed to be university in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Founded in 1969 as an autonomous college, on 22 July 2008 it was declared as an institution deemed to be university under section 3 of UGC Act 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.

About the Event

School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Model United Nations culture, is organising the 8th Edition of the Model United Nations being hosted at and by School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), from 30th January 2020 to 2nd February 2020.

In the 8th Edition, the Model United Nations Society at School Of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) promises to raise the bar and exceed all expectations that it has set out for itself.

With 6 Committees and an Executive Board that boasts of some of the most notable and experienced debaters in the field of International Debate and Model UN, SLCUMUN 2020 promises to be the most awaited conference of the year and has always excelled in the art of hosting and conducting one of the best conferences in the country. Following are the extremely interesting and unique committees that SLCUMUN 2019 shall host:

United Nations General Assembly Disarmament and International Security:
Agenda: General and Complete Disarmament: The illicit trade in small arms and light weapons in all its aspects.

The International Court of Justice:
Agenda: Application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (The Gambia vs Myanmar).

United Nations Security Council:
Agenda: Reviewing the existing global nuclear security framework to limit proliferation in the 21st century.

United Nations Human Rights Council:
Agenda: Protection of the rights of women in conflict zones.

The Lok Sabha:
Agenda: This House calls for a Plenary Session to review the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and invites other Private Member Bills and Ministerial Bills.
